We stayed two nights at the Andaz One Bangkok to start off our two-week Thailand family vacation. This brand-new luxury hotel is conveniently located within the massive One Bangkok development, offering direct access to the MRT, tons of shops and eateries, and just steps away from beautiful Lumpini Park. It proved to be the perfect base for exploring Bangkok with kids.
In this Andaz One Bangkok review, we’re sharing our experience staying here with our 7-year-old daughter, including a full tour of our room, the Andaz lounge, the pool and fitness center, and whether we’d recommend this hotel for families visiting Bangkok.

Andaz One Bangkok Review
When first researching where to stay in Bangkok, we were overwhelmed with the sheer number of options. Ultimately we wanted a hotel that would be easy to get to from the airport, provide a comfortable stay for our daughter, and be centrally located to kid-friendly attractions. Andaz One Bangkok ticked off all three boxes.
Location
To be honest, I think the location was the best part of staying at Andaz One Bangkok. We truly felt like everything we wanted to see was within easy reach from the hotel.
When traveling with kids, a convenient location is high on the priority list, so the fact that Andaz One Bangkok is directly connected to the One Bangkok development with hundreds of shops, restaurants and even a mega indoor playground was amazing.
With direct access to the MRT, we had no issue getting to all the Bangkok attractions we wanted to see. Being right across from the massive Lumpini Park was a bonus as well, as our daughter loved the playground and we loved the street food.
The location seriously can’t be beat.

What is One Bangkok?
If you’re wondering, “What exactly is One Bangkok?” well, it’s a multi-tower lifestyle destination made up of offices, hotels, shops, restaurants, residences, and entertainment venues. Its first phase just opened in October 2024.
How to get to Andaz One Bangkok
Andaz One Bangkok is located 31km from Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) and 25km from Don Mueang International Airport (DMK).
It is easily accessible by public transportation, taxi, or you can arrange for a hotel limousine car to pick you up.
Since we arrived very early in the morning after a redeye flight from Frankfurt, we opted to take a Grab taxi as our daughter was too tired to deal with public transportation. At this time of day, traffic was not too much of an issue yet.
However, if we had arrived later in the day when traffic was at its peak, we would have taken the MRT to save time.
By Grab
If you’re not familiar with Grab, it’s Southeast Asia’s version of Uber. It was our preferred method of getting around Thailand and very affordable.
The airports have dedicated Grab pick-up areas which make it very convenient.
At 8am, our Grab taxi took 47 minutes from BKK Airport to Andaz One Bangkok. The total cost came to 409 THB ($12.50 USD).
By Public Transportation
Depending on traffic, and how much luggage you have, the Airport Rail Link and MRT may be the preferred choice when coming from Suvarnabhumi Airport. It will also only cost you 32 THB ($1 USD).
Take the Airport Rail Link from Suvarnabhumi Airport and get off at Makkasan Station (5 stops away). Follow the signs to transfer to the MRT Blue Line at Phetchaburi Station. You’ll want to take it in the direction of Lak Song, and get off at Lumphini Station (4 stops away).
At Lumphini Station, take Exit 1, and walk through the mall, following signs to Andaz One Bangkok hotel. The entire journey will take about 50 minutes.
Parking
If you are brave enough to drive in Bangkok, the hotel offers complimentary valet and self-parking. If self-parking, use the spaces at “The Storeys” (yellow zone), floors B2-B3, pillars A-D, 1-10.

Arrival and Check-In
We arrived at the hotel at 9am after our long journey from Canada. As soon as we pulled up to the hotel, there were two lovely doormen who came out to greet us. They opened the taxi doors for us and grabbed our luggage from the trunk. They even helped break a large bill for us when our Grab driver didn’t have change. We were amazed!
They took care of all our bags and led us up the elevator to the 6th floor lobby.
As soon as we stepped foot off of the elevator, we were invited to sit down at a large table by the window, overlooking beautiful Lumpini Park.
The entire lobby area was very bright and open, with modern Thai artwork and decor, and a gorgeous wooden piano.
We were immediately brought some cups of refreshing Thai Milk Tea and invited to grab some snacks in the lounge while we waited for the check-in procedure to be completed.
They informed us that since check-in doesn’t start until 3pm that our room was not ready yet, which we completely understood. However, they let us know that a room on a lower floor without much of a view was ready if we wanted to take that one instead. Considering we wanted to go grab lunch anyway, we declined and let them know that we didn’t mind returning later once our room was ready.
They kindly stored our luggage for us and said they’d email once the room was ready. To our surprise, they e-mailed at noon and said the room was ready for check-in.
- Standard Check-in Time: 3:00pm
- Standard Check-out Time: 12:00pm

Room Review: City View 1 King Room
We booked a Standard King Room and requested a rollaway bed for our daughter. The room we were given was 1619, a preferred room on the 16th floor with a city view. Our room was all the way towards the end of the hall, far from the elevators, so it was very quiet.
When we checked into the room, it had already been set up with the rollaway bed, which we greatly appreciated. They had also decorated the beds with colorful hand-folded paper cranes and hearts – a lovely surprise for our daughter!
Entryway
Upon entering the room, we were greeted with a spacious entryway with an open-concept closet. There was ample hanging space with good quality hangers provided.
Hanging on the left were two comfy and stylish robes.
There was a marble bench, perfect for spreading out our luggage on. Below were two drawers, one containing the safe, and the other some slippers, shoe brush and laundry service info.
Toilet Room
I actually didn’t even notice this room at first as my eyes went straight to the bathroom. However, I soon realized that the bathroom was missing a toilet – turns out it was in its own room across the hall! This is the first time I’ve experienced the toilet being completely separated from the main bathroom like this.
The toilet room contained a fancy Japanese-style toilet, complete with a toilet lid that automatically raises as you approach it.
On the wall was a touchscreen control pad for all the toilet and bidet functions.
There was also a small sink, lighted mirror, and electrical outlet, which came in handy when all three of us were trying to get ready in the morning.
Bathroom
On the right, behind the sliding mirrored door, was the main bathroom.
It was very spacious, with a separate soaker tub and large rainfall shower.
The whole bathroom was marble with bronze accents.
I really loved how the amenities were arranged in a wooden box like a puzzle with a Thai design.
A Dyson hair dryer was provided, which was a luxurious touch.
On the right of the sink was a magnifying mirror and universal power outlet, which is handy if you’ve brought a hair straightener or curling iron from home.
Inside the shower were toiletries by Byredo, a luxury Swedish brand. Sadly, you can’t take them home as they are fastened to the wall in reusable containers. To give you an idea of price, a 450ml bottle of Byredo body wash normally sells for $85 USD.
Bedroom
The bedroom was very spacious with calming, minimalistic decor in neutral and earthy colours. I loved the floor to ceiling window that let in lots of natural light.
I appreciated the privacy shade that still let in lots of light while offering some privacy.
The king bed was very comfortable with plush pillows and a perfectly weighted duvet. Not too hot, not too thin – just right.
There were bedside tables on both sides, one with a phone and writing pad, the other with an alarm clock with wireless charging.
Both sides had reading lamps, lighting controls, universal outlets, and both USB-A and USB-C outlets.
At the foot of the bed was a bench, and on the wall was a large flatscreen TV.
The rollaway bed was very nice and comfy for our daughter. They placed two comfy pillows and nice bedding on it – it didn’t even really look like a rollaway bed. It blended right in.
Minibar
One big selling point for me for Andaz hotels is the complimentary minibar!
I love that the non-alcoholic drinks and snacks were free and restocked daily.
And they weren’t just your average drinks and snacks either.
They were local specialties. I was particularly excited for the Thai Iced Tea and our daughter enjoyed the mango gummies.
We also appreciated the many bottles of complimentary water which were restocked twice daily. Bangkok is very hot and we found ourselves drinking so much water!
There is a nice Nespresso coffee maker but the pods were not Nespresso brand. They were still tasty though.
The teas were also very nice.
Sitting Area
There was a cozy nook in the corner by the bed that serves as both a dining area and work space.
The leather bench is comfortable, complete with pillows. Another comfy wooden armchair was placed on the opposite side of the round wooden table.
Due to the rollaway bed, the sitting area was a bit compressed in order to make the bed fit, but it still worked well as a dining area for us.
The staff had left a lovely little cake since it was our daughter’s birthday, and drew a cute card for her.
She was ecstatic.
They also left us a bowl of longan, which was a nice local touch.
Views
Our room looked out to the city, with towers on both sides. We had been hoping for a view over gorgeous Lumpini Park instead, but the high floor view over the city was still nice.
Turndown Service
Each day around late afternoon, staff would come around to offer turndown service. They would empty our garbage, replenish our bottled water, change out our mugs, and close all the blinds.
Air Conditioning
Speaking of blinds, once those automatic blinds are fully closed, the room is completely blacked out and it really makes a difference in keeping the room extra cool.
The air conditioning worked very well and kept us cool regardless.

Andaz One Bangkok Restaurants
The hotel offers three options for dining:
- Jing, a Chinese restaurant that also serves as the hotel’s breakfast venue
- Andaz Terrace, an open-air lounge for laid back breakfasts, lunches, and dinner, plus afternoon tea
- Piscari, a rooftop restaurant and bar, with a Mediterranean-inspired menu and hidden speakeasy
We unfortunately did not have time to sample any of the above three restaurants as there was just too much good food to indulge in outside of the hotel. However, each restaurant looked beautiful and inviting, and the menus sounded tasty with reasonable prices.

Andaz Lounge
The one place we did sample at the hotel was the Andaz Lounge. It is located within the lobby and is open 24/7 to all in-house guests.
There are complimentary coffees, teas, and snacks throughout the day.
In addition, between 4 and 5pm each day, there is a complimentary happy hour with canapes and cocktails.
We loved grabbing a Thai Milk Tea when passing through the lounge, and they even made us Nespresso coffees to go.
The happy hour was a fun experience with some local delicacies. I couldn’t resist trying some fried bugs, which our daughter was a bit mortified by.
Facilities
Swimming Pool
On the 7th floor is a beautiful, large saltwater infinity pool overlooking Lumpini Park. There are comfortable poolside lounge chairs in addition to large cabanas.
When we visited in the late afternoon, we only encountered a total of five other guests. Upon arrival, a pool attendant came out to greet us, brought us ice cold waters, and fresh towels.
The pool is 4ft deep and long enough to do laps. Unfortunately there is no shallow section for kids, but if your kids know how to swim, then it’s no problem 🙂

It was an absolutely beautiful place to relax and cool down after busy days exploring hot and humid Bangkok. The views overlooking all the greenery made us feel like we weren’t even in a gigantic city.
This serene pool area was truly a highlight of the hotel.
Pool Hours: 7:00am-8:00pm
Fitness Center
The fitness center is located on the 7th floor, just inside from the pool. It’s open 24 hours a day and has very nice, modern equipment.
Ryan enjoyed his workout here and had the whole place to himself.
Staying at Andaz One Bangkok with Kids
While this hotel is not necessarily geared towards kids or families, we still found it to be an excellent choice for our family. The hotel itself lacks kids activities and a dedicated kids pool, but it makes up for it with its location.
Just below the hotel, within the One Bangkok development, is Mega Harborland, a massive indoor playground. Our family spent many fun-filled hours there and it was one of our daughter’s favourite places! It’s the perfect place to go during the intense mid-day heat. The mall has all kinds of other kid-focused play areas and shops as well.
And in the mornings, we enjoyed Lumpini Park across the street where our daughter enjoyed the playground, spotting monitor lizards, and free swan boat rentals.
Another big plus of this hotel is that rollaway beds are free of charge! This had been something we were struggling with when deciding where to stay in Bangkok. Many of the hotels we looked at only offered rooms with 1 King bed or 2 twins, which doesn’t work for our family, and charged a lot for a rollaway bed.
Last but not least, the STAFF here were absolutely amazing with our daughter! They all genuinely enjoyed interacting with her and became like friends during our stay. They’d offer her ice cream when they’d see her in the lobby and take interest in her day. She felt so welcomed. Shout out to Golffy, Doi, Bank, and Eve who were all so kind during our stay.

Final Thoughts on Andaz One Bangkok
The Andaz One Bangkok is is a very nice, new, modern hotel that is perfectly located for a family trip to Bangkok. It was our first time staying at an Andaz hotel and our stay here certainly made us want to book more Andaz stays in the future!
We loved the complimentary lounge access, the beautiful decor, the stunning infinity pool, modern gym, spacious room, free minibar, and luxurious amenities, such as the Dyson hair dryer. However, what stood out the most was the incredibly kind, warm-hearted staff who made our stay that much more special.
Our stay here was truly the perfect start to our Thailand family trip. We would highly recommend the Andaz One Bangkok to anyone looking for a peaceful oasis in the city that is well-connected to all that Bangkok has to offer.
