The Bangkok Unicorn Cafe is one of the city’s many cute themed cafes. It’s been around for over a decade now, so the initial hype has faded, but if you have a unicorn-loving child, or you’re a kid at heart, it’s well worth adding to your Bangkok itinerary! With playful decor, rainbow-colored treats, and plenty of photo opportunities, it’s a magical little escape from the bustling streets of Bangkok.
After visiting ourselves, we found that while the food won’t win any awards, the experience is unforgettable for kids. Here’s everything you need to know before you go, including the menu, prices, costumes, and whether it’s actually worth visiting.

Bangkok Unicorn Cafe Overview
Asia is known for having plenty of fun, themed cafes, and we always aim to visit at least one whenever we’re in the region. So, when we were planning our 3-day Bangkok itinerary with our daughter, I researched a number of animal cafes and themed cafes to see if there were any worth visiting.
As soon as I saw the Unicorn Cafe, I knew we had to add it to our bucketlist. Our daughter is obsessed with unicorns so I knew this would be a dream come true for her!
Bangkok Unicorn Cafe Location
The Unicorn Cafe is located on a quiet side street in the Silom area of Bangkok, not far from Lumphini Park (less than 2km).
Unicorn Cafe Bangkok Address: 44/1 Soi Sathon 8, Si Lom, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500, Thailand
How To Get To The Unicorn Cafe In Bangkok
Grab: Since we were staying only 2km away at the Andaz One Bangkok, we opted to take a Grab taxi. It was cheap and convenient. However, if you are coming from more than a few kilometers away, I would suggest taking the BTS/public transportation. Traffic is quite heavy in the surrounding area and it can take much longer than expected in a taxi.
BTS: The Unicorn Cafe is a quick 6-minute walk (400 metres) from Chong Nonsi Station on the Silom Line. Use Google Maps for step-by-step walking directions.
Bangkok Unicorn Cafe Opening Hours
- Tuesday to Sunday: 12pm-8pm
- Monday: CLOSED
Best Time to Visit
The cafe is busiest around lunchtime when it opens, so I suggest going mid to late afternoon if you’d like to take photos with less people around and have a choice of tables. The lunch items didn’t look as good as the desserts/treats, so it’s worth just heading there after lunch/dinner anyway.
We went at 2pm on a Saturday and it was quite empty. It was also the perfect time to escape the hottest time of the day in Bangkok and enjoy the cafe’s air conditioning.
Bangkok Unicorn Cafe Menu
The menu has a variety of colorful fun drinks and rainbow-colored sweet treats and savory dishes. Don’t expect any Thai dishes here, though. All are Western options, other than a few drinks.

Dressing Up In Unicorn Onesies
When at the Unicorn Cafe, might as well go all out and dress up as a unicorn while you’re there!
The cafe rents out unicorn onesies at a very reasonable price of 100 THB ($3 USD). I’m not sure how often they get washed, but they thankfully didn’t smell or seem dirty (just used). If you’d prefer to buy a fresh one, you can do so for 1200 THB ($36 USD).
They have both adult and child sizes available to rent.
At first we weren’t so sure about wearing them as it was super hot outside, but our daughter insisted. She was so excited about it that all three of us had to wear them. Thankfully the cafe is air conditioned so it was bearable wearing those furry costumes despite the heat.
Bangkok Unicorn Cafe Gift Shop
In addition to food, the cafe also has a decent selection of unicorn merchandise for sale. From keychains and clothing, to stuffies and stickers, there are tons of cute items for the perfect Bangkok Unicorn souvenir.
Our daughter chose a unicorn snap bracelet that she loved.

Food and Drinks
Having just enjoyed a filling Thai street food buffet, we were here strictly for some rainbow-colored treats and cold drinks.
Our daughter ordered the Pinky Milk (80 THB), which was an iced milk with strawberry flavoring. She loved it! Bonus: it even had sprinkles on the top! It was a fairly large drink for a kid so she didn’t end up finishing it.
Ryan and I shared a Thai Milk Tea (80 THB). It was refreshing but not one of the best Thai Milk Teas we had in Thailand.
Our daughter, of course, chose the Unicorn Rainbow Waffle (250 THB). It was huge!
It was served on an adorable star plate with 10 heart-shaped rainbow waffles. To top it off were two scoops of bubblegum ice cream, whipped cream, rainbow marshmallows, rainbow sprinkles, a sliced banana, heart-shaped strawberries, a mini waffle cone, and a unicorn decal. On the side: syrup in a star-shaped dish.
It was such a filling serving that even between the three of us, we couldn’t finish it.
Overall, the food was good but definitely more pretty than it was tasty. I’m sure any kid would be happy with the food but most adults will probably find the taste to be quite basic.
Atmosphere
Walking into the cafe is like walking into a magical pastel wonderland. There are tons of unicorn stuffies hanging from the ceiling with a chandelier in the middle, the walls and ceiling are covered in bright colors and stars, and the furniture is all pretty pastels with hearts and gems.
The entire place is full of unicorn stuffies to cuddle with at each table, and there’s light pop music playing in the background.
When we visited, there were only two other groups there (both foreign families with young kids). All the kids loved the decor and playing with the stuffies. The cafe is definitely a magical place for kids.
However, adults will notice that the cafe is showing its age. The sign outside is faded, the stuffies are well loved, and the unicorns hanging from the ceiling are looking a bit dusty. The bright menus are tattered and some items are out of stock.
Service
There were two men working when we visited. They were pleasant but didn’t really give off magical vibes, in my opinion. I expected more playfulness and excitement from someone working at a kid-friendly cafe, but they honestly looked bored.
Not that it seemed to make much difference to the kids, but I feel like having more enthusiastic staff would really add to the magical experience.
Service was also a bit slow considering there were only two other groups in the cafe at the time.
Tips for Visiting Bangkok Unicorn Cafe
- Bring cash. Credit card is not accepted.
- Don’t come on a Monday – it’s closed.
- Visit during the afternoon between lunch and dinner (it’s less busy and you get to escape the afternoon heat outside).
- Don’t come hungry (the food is a bit disappointing).
- Check out the gift shop for unicorn themed souvenirs.
- Plan to spend about one hour here.
Verdict: Is Bangkok Unicorn Cafe worth visiting?
As an adult, the unicorn cafe wouldn’t be my first choice for a themed cafe in Bangkok. I see so much potential but honestly it feels as if the owners have neglected it and the cafe is now past its prime.
The food is completely underwhelming in a city that is known for such amazing food. But for fun photos with rainbow-themed treats and cuddly stuffies to make you feel like a kid again, it’s definitely still a fun place for a quick visit. It just wouldn’t be my first choice.
However, with kids, it’s a different story.
Is it worth visiting with kids?
The Unicorn Cafe is absolutely worth visiting with kids. They will love it. In fact, when anyone asks our daughter what her favourite thing she did in Thailand was, she raves about this unicorn cafe! It was the most memorable part of the trip for her.
Our daughter didn’t care that the unicorns were a bit dusty, that the food was all looks and no substance, and that the staff didn’t really look like they wanted to be there. All she saw was pure magic: a unicorn wonderland unlike any place she’s visited at home. Sweet rainbow treats, happy colors, cuddly stuffies, cute souvenirs – a place full of joy.
If you have a young child, that makes it all worth it.
